В статье рассматриваются особенности семантики и структуры самых распространенных в азербайджанском языке субстантивных словосочетаний с зависимым словом-именем существительным в родительном падеже в сопоставлении с русским. Сделан краткий экскурс в методику вопроса, классифицированы слагаемые семантического поля.

At the present stage of development of our society and occuring in it radical socio-economic and technological changes, during the changes of language situations, comparative studies, one component of which, as a rule, is the Russian language, does not lose its relevance and significance, but get a new impulse to its further development. This is not surprising. Firstly, the Russian language has been and remains the language of international communication of the Russian people, especially of the Dagestan Republic, where about 30 Ibero-Caucasian, 3 Turkish and plus 2 Indo-European language are functioning. Secondly, the influence of the Russian language in all these languages, including Azerbaijani still remains relevant, which sometimes leads to the erosion of certain provisions of the contacting languages. Each of these languages, as a living organism, is in perpetual motion. They are replenished by Russianisms instead of old borrowings from Arab-Oriental languages. Third, this natural process must be accompanied by linguistic research in comparative aspect. This need is dictated by linguo-didactic interests, identifying similarities and differences between Russian and Azerbaijani languages as languages of different systems and different structures, preservation of pure native speech, finally, identifying language universals at the level of syntax.
The article considers semantic peculiarities and structure of the most common substantives phrases with dependent noun in genitive case in Azerbaijani in comparison with Russian. A brief insight to the method of the question, classification of items of semantic field shall be regarded.
