Abstract |
[RUS]

The article is devoted to the principles of the use of folklore material in Ivan Goncharov's prose. The author raises the question of reminiscences hidden in the works by Goncharov, addresses the subject of research of intertextual relations of the writer, focusing not only on relations with the Russian literature, but also on the European literary heritage. The author researches the mythologism in novels, arguing that, deprived of external ethnographism, Goncharov's novels reveal a deep and organic assimilation of the specifics of Russian folklore by the author. The article reveals the importance of Russian epic and fairy tales in the writer's biography. The author draws a parallel between Oblomov and images of Russian fairy and folk epic, identifies the relationship of Oblomov with the images of Ivan the Fool and Ivan Tsarevich, asserts the existence of two main chronotopes in the novel "Oblomov": Olga and Stolz live in the historic world, the other characters in the novel live in a fairy chronotope. Oblomov loses Olga, like a princess from a fairy tale, being unable to cope with a difficult task. Undoubtedly, Goncharov demythologizes tale, but also emphasizes the moral dignity of its heroes. The author concludes the article with the overview of folklore allusions in the novels of the writer.
