Статья посвящена истории возникновения монотеизма в учении Ветхого Завета. Автор сравнивает гипотезы историков, занимавшихся становлением яхвизма. Особенное внимание уделено вопросу возможного взаимовлияния иудейской веры и монотеистической религиозной реформы египетского фараона Эхнатона.

Article is devoted to the history of monotheism in the teaching of the Old Testament. The theme of the origins of monotheism has not been developed, due to the remoteness of a historical moment (the lack of independence of archaeological sources) and certain historians' worldview. Hypotheses of origin of the name of God, the Tetragrammaton, are compared. Historical data allow to reconstruct the image of Yahweh as one of the gods of the Semitic pantheon. In the process of monotheism growing the image of Old Testament deity went through reduction. Particular attention is paid to the possible interference of the Jewish faith and the monotheistic religious reforms of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten. Among the distinctive features of the religion of Akhenaten, there are many common features with monotheism of the Hebrews: the reduction of the mythological framework in favor of the religious component; denial of magic; rejection of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic images of the god; rejection of the doctrine of the afterlife. However, there are differences in the level of the transcendence of God and the political significance of the deity image. The comparison of monotheistic reforms of Moses and Akhenaten convincingly speak of the unity of the teachings, but the possibility of borrowing directions remains debatable.
