Настоящая статья посвящена важной проблеме тифлопедагогической науки и практики – конкретизации речи слепых учащихся. В ней приводится краткий анализ работ, посвященных проблеме, и соответствующие выводы. Освещены методы и формы работы по конкретизации речи слепых.

The article is dedicated to the important issue of tiflopedagogical science and practice – the specification of speech of blind students.
The speech is one of the most powerful factors and incentives for the development of the child as a whole. Children with visual impairments may operate with communication words learned in speech, a long time without having any ideas about the things designated by them, that is the reason for the formal, not meaningful knowledge, that hinders speech development.
The speech should express ideas and not be limited to the form of imitation, no matter how elegant it may be. Children should be taught to express their thoughts in a quite clear form for others.
Today the practice in educational institutions for children with visual impairment includes relief drawing, handicraft, widely practiced object lessons and excursions, different forms of educational work: games (role-playing, didactic), modeling and sculpturing. They all serve to the enrichment of child's specific ideas about objects and phenomena around them, contributing to the general development and preparing children for life.
