Статья освещает основные аспекты формирования региональной инновационной политики Ставропольского края. В работе описывается законодательное обеспечение инновационной деятельности региона. Представлены механизмы государственной поддержки предпринимательства в научно-технической сфере. Определены приоритетные составляющие инновационной инфраструктуры Ставропольского края и формы содействия малому и среднему бизнесу в реализации инновационных проектов.

World practice shows that the regions of the Russian Federation with underdeveloped processing facilities, to what can be attributed the Stavropol Territory, are more willing to innovation activity. It is in these regions a need to overcome the crisis through the development of new markets, new technological solutions to reduce costs (provided maintaining the structure of industrial production), formation of fundamentally new products and new companies for their production.
The article describes basic principles of creating an enabling environment for research and development, technology transfer and commercialization of innovations in the Stavropol Territory.
Stavropol Territory has objective conditions for the accelerated formation of an innovation economy and an ample opportunity to become a center of innovation activities of the North Caucasus Federal District, and the development of mechanisms to support and stimulate the development of innovation is one of the most important and difficult challenges facing the government of the Stavropol Territory.
The author discloses basic directions of the positive image of the Stavropol Territory as an area of innovation development, describes the mechanisms of state support and encouragement of entrepreneurship in science and technology.
