В статье рассматривается состояние современных художественных традиций литературного и культурного наследия мексикано-американцев, исследуется проблематика граничности Мексики и Северной Америки в рамках концепции статьи.

Like other ethnic American literature, literature and culture of Mexican-Americans were non-existent in the national consciousness in the United States for centuries.
An important culturological metaphor and at the same time an issue of the Mexican-American culture has been the border between Mexico and the North American civilization for decades. From the mythological point of view, any border, first, essentially is sacral, and secondly, is ambivalent. If it defends by the wall, the border serves to protect those who are inside. The world still arguing about the national, political or religious borders, but cannot get rid of them.
Speaking on the state of contemporary Chicano artistic traditions, it should be noted the rapid growth and activity of aesthetic pursuit, the reliance on community and orality of folklore, connections of figural, domestic and religious principles, as well as the completeness of the literary ensemble presented by drama, prose, poetry, essays and other genres.
