Статья посвящена рассмотрению теоретических основ изучения феномена электоральной культуры. Приведены различные трактовки понятия, подробно описаны компоненты, составляющие структуру электоральной культуры. В статье обозначены функции и наиболее распространенные основания классификации электоральной культуры, представлено соотношение понятий «политическая культура» и «электоральная культура». Показано, что изучение различных аспектов электоральной культуры может рассматриваться как перспективное направление социологических исследований, позволяющее с высокой долей вероятности прогнозировать поведение субъектов избирательного процесса.

The article explores theoretical foundations of studying the phenomenon of electoral culture. It deals with different interpretations of the concept and carries out an in-depth analysis of the components that make up the structure of the electoral culture. Despite the fact that all three structural components of electoral culture are closely connected to each other, electoral disposition can be considered to be the key element. Though the author of the article points out that all three components are required in order to get a holistic conception analysis of the phenomenon. It is the vector of person's so-called "electoral worldview" that determines the extent of their electoral activity, the preferred type of electoral activity (inactivity) and directly influences the tendency to develop the electoral competence. The article describes the features of electoral culture and the most common approaches to classify it, as well as the relationship between the concepts of "political culture" and "electoral culture". It also demonstrates that studying various aspects of the electoral culture can be viewed as a promising direction in sociological research, which allows of predicting the behavior of the participants in the electoral process with a high degree of probability.
